Package Adventur caraibean Lost city and Guajira

DAY 1: MINCA AND THE “EARTH’S EAR”

Departure from Cartagena by car to Minca, going through the city of Barranquilla and Santa Marta. Lunch by the river Minca. 30 minute hike to Arimaka, “The Earth’s Ear”, sacred site to the indigenous where you can bathe in a waterfall. Dinner at a restaurant right in front of the river Minca and accommodations at a family home with a wonderful view of Santa Marta’s Bay.

 

DAY 2: POZO AZUL, LOS NARANJOS AND RIO PIEDRAS

Breakfast and departure on motor-bike to La Victoria, old Coffee plantation of the Sierra Nevada that won the Second National Place for its organic coffee. Tour around the plantation to watch the coffee process cultivation; departure to Pozo Azul (blue pool) to bathe and enjoy the several natural pools. Return to Minca and departure by car to the Tayrona Natural National Park. Lunch and break at Los Naranjos Beach. Hike to the outlet of the river Piedras into the Caribbean Sea. Dinner and accommodations in tents at Naranjos Beach.*

 

DAY 3: THE MAMEY REGION

Departure from Los Naranjos in a camper to the Mamey Region. Hiking up by the river Guachaca to the first station of the trail to the Lost City. This site has many natural crystal clear pools to refresh yourself. Dinner and accommodations in hammocks with mosquito net.

 

DAY 4: MUTANYI

Breakfast and a short hike descending to a valley formed by the Buritaca River where there is a little indigenous town known as Mutanyi. Lunch and hike to a natural pool complex formed by the Buritaca River; Dinner and accommodations in hammocks with mosquito net.

 

DAY 5: BURITACA RIVER

Breakfast and hike by the indigenous reservation of the Kogui €“ Arsario and the Natural National Park Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta, going through several indigenous homes and stone trails left by the ancient indigenous of the region. Finally, and after crossing the Buritaca River and climbing a great stone stair, you will find the Lost City. Dinner and accommodations in hammocks with mosquito net.**

 

DAY 6: LOST CITY

After breakfast, tour to the Park where there are ceremonial sites of the indigenous inhabitants and the adaptation that the Tayronas developed to the environment. After the tour the returning hike; Lunch at Mutanyi and hike to Alfredo’s Cabin. Dinner and accommodations in hammocks with mosquito nets.

 

DAY 7: MAMEY’S REGION AND RIO PIEDRAS

Morning hike of 3 hours to the Mamey; from there a car ride to the Tayrona National Park; lunch and break at the Naranjos Beach or at the outlet of the Rio Piedras into the Caribbean Sea. Dinner and accommodations in tents at Naranjos Beach.

 

DAY 8: CANAVERAL, ARRECIFES AND CABO SAN JUAN DEL GUIA

Breakfast and departure to Tayrona National Park. 4 hour hike through ecological trails in the middle of the tropical jungle, stopping at the lagoon and the scenic observation site at Canaveral, the exotic beaches of Arrecifes, the natural “sea pool” and Cabo San Juan del Guia. Break at the gorgeous Cove of El Cabo, returning in the afternoon to Naranjos Beach. Dinner and accommodations in tents at Naranjos Beach.

 

DAY 9: EL CABO DE LA VELA

Alter breakfast, departure to Cabo de la Vela going through Riohacha, the salt mine complex of Manaure and the desert of Carrizal. Lunch at El Cabo de la Vela. Tour to the Pilon de Azucar, a beautiful observation site over looking the desert and the Caribbean Sea. Time to take a break at the beach before continuing to El Faro to enjoy a sunset filled with colours right in front of the Caribbean Sea. Dinner and accommodations in hammocks at a Wayuu Rancheria.

 

DAY 10: BAHIA HONDA AND BAHIA HONDITA

Breakfast and departure to Punta Gallinas, going through the Wind Park, Puerto Bolivar and Portete Bay. Tour to Pusheo Beach at Bahia Honda and lunch. Tour in a boat to Bahia Hondita stopping by the Beaches of Punta Soldado, Punta Aguja and the Island. Dinner and accommodations in hammocks at a Wayuu Rancheria in Punta Gallinas.***

 

DAY 11: PUNTA GALLINAS AND THE SAND DUNES OF TAROA

Early departure to El Faro (lighthouse) of Punta Gallinas, the northern point of South America and tour to the Dunes of Taroa. Returning to Uribia for lunch and departure to Los Naranjos Beach. Dinner and accommodation in tents at Los Naranjos Beach*.

 

DAY 12: QUEBRADA VALENCIA AND TAGANGA

Breakfast and departure to the Natural Reserve of Quebrada Valencia. 30 minute hike through an ecological trail to a beautiful Waterfall with many natural pools. Stop over at La Tribu Valencia where they produce a delicious organic Cocoa; return to Naranjos Beach. During the day transfer by car to Santa Marta visiting the town of Taganga and departing to Cartagena where the program ends.
